This virtual green community network was developed in response to the need for connecting people who wish to share sustainable projects and ideas with others in the community. We were surprised to learn just how many are becoming involved in this growing phenomenon, but found that they were often unaware of others just like themselves who shared common goals and interests. So this web site will allow you to Connect With Others, Share Your Own Listings, and Discover New Resources.
THERE’S A LOT GOING ON IN THE GREEN COMMUNITY! Sorry for shouting—but this movement is BIGGER than all of us. You might say it has a life of its own, or, to borrow a quote “it’s big, bad, bold, and worldwide,” and, we would add, “UNSTOPPABLE.”
We could have called it “classified”, or “barter/give/sell”. What we really wanted to call it was “The C—-‘s list for the sustainable community”…but we couldn’t, so we didn’t. Call it whatever you want—it’s Yours! Your marketplace! We think it’s the thing that separates us from the pack, and if we do say so, it’s much prettier and easier to use than, you know, that “other” list.
Who’s who in the neighborhood? Who’s planting, harvesting, selling, bartering, giving a class, or is just full of wisdom? This is the place to find out. Whether your love is community gardens, neighborhood resiliency, raising chickens, peak oil, you’re looking for something as broad as “the better way” or as narrow as the best place to buy tulip bulbs—no matter–this is the place to start: connect, share, ask, and toss around ideas.
